Description

This Baked Million Dollar Ravioli Casserole is a hearty and indulgent dish packed with layers of cheesy ravioli, a creamy ricotta and sour cream blend, and a rich meat sauce. Baked until bubbly and golden, it’s a satisfying weeknight dinner or crowd-pleasing comfort food.

Ingredients

1 (25 oz) bag frozen cheese ravioli

1 lb ground beef

1 small onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 (24 oz) jar marinara sauce

1 cup ricotta cheese

1 cup sour cream

1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

1 tsp Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper to taste

Chopped parsley for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef with chopped onion until browned. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute. Drain excess grease.
  3. Stir in marinara sauce and Italian seasoning, season with salt and pepper, and simmer for 5 minutes. Remove from heat.
  4. In a medium bowl, mix ricotta cheese and sour cream until smooth.
  5. In the baking dish, layer half of the frozen ravioli, half of the ricotta mixture, half of the meat sauce, and a sprinkle of mozzarella.
  6. Repeat layers with remaining ravioli, ricotta mixture, meat sauce, and top with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese.
  7. Cover with foil and bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10–15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  8. Let cool for 5 minutes, garnish with chopped parsley if desired, and serve.

Notes

  • Use Italian sausage instead of ground beef for extra flavor.
  • Make it vegetarian with mushrooms or spinach instead of meat.
  • Add pesto to the ricotta mixture for a flavor twist.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 4 days or freeze before/after baking.
  • Reheat in oven at 350°F or microwave individual portions.
