Description
Cinnamon Sugar Air Fryer Banana Chips are a sweet and crunchy snack with a warm cinnamon aroma. These air-fried banana chips are healthy, naturally gluten-free, and vegan, offering a guilt-free treat that’s perfect for satisfying cravings or as a topping for yogurt or oatmeal.
Ingredients
2 ripe but firm bananas
1 tablespoon coconut oil, melted
1 tablespoon granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Pinch of salt
Instructions
- Peel the bananas and slice them thinly (about 1/8 inch thick) into rounds.
- In a small bowl, mix the sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
- Toss the banana slices gently in the melted coconut oil to coat.
- Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the banana slices and toss lightly again to distribute the coating.
- Preheat the air fryer to 300°F (150°C).
- Arrange the banana slices in a single layer inside the air fryer basket, making sure they don’t overlap.
- Air fry for 15-18 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through, until they are golden and crispy.
- Remove and let cool completely on a wire rack to crisp up further before serving.
Notes
- For the best texture, use ripe but firm bananas. Overripe bananas might turn mushy during air frying.
- If you prefer a less sweet snack, you can reduce or omit the sugar. Experiment with different spices like nutmeg for variety.
- If you don’t have coconut oil, you can substitute it with vegetable or canola oil, but coconut oil helps with the flavor and crispiness.
- Once the chips have cooled completely, store them in an airtight container for up to 3 days. To reheat, place them in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes to restore crispiness.
