Description

Cinnamon Sugar Air Fryer Banana Chips are a sweet and crunchy snack with a warm cinnamon aroma. These air-fried banana chips are healthy, naturally gluten-free, and vegan, offering a guilt-free treat that’s perfect for satisfying cravings or as a topping for yogurt or oatmeal.


Ingredients

2 ripe but firm bananas

1 tablespoon coconut oil, melted

1 tablespoon granulated sugar

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

Pinch of salt


Instructions

  1. Peel the bananas and slice them thinly (about 1/8 inch thick) into rounds.
  2. In a small bowl, mix the sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Toss the banana slices gently in the melted coconut oil to coat.
  4. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly over the banana slices and toss lightly again to distribute the coating.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 300°F (150°C).
  6. Arrange the banana slices in a single layer inside the air fryer basket, making sure they don’t overlap.
  7. Air fry for 15-18 minutes, flipping the slices halfway through, until they are golden and crispy.
  8. Remove and let cool completely on a wire rack to crisp up further before serving.

Notes

  • For the best texture, use ripe but firm bananas. Overripe bananas might turn mushy during air frying.
  • If you prefer a less sweet snack, you can reduce or omit the sugar. Experiment with different spices like nutmeg for variety.
  • If you don’t have coconut oil, you can substitute it with vegetable or canola oil, but coconut oil helps with the flavor and crispiness.
  • Once the chips have cooled completely, store them in an airtight container for up to 3 days. To reheat, place them in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes to restore crispiness.
