Description

This citrus-cilantro marinated steak is a flavorful and juicy dish, combining tangy citrus with savory soy sauce and fresh cilantro for a vibrant grilled meal.

Ingredients

1/2 cup orange juice

1/4 cup lime juice (about 2 limes)

1/4 cup soy sauce

1/4 cup olive oil

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro

1 tsp ground cumin

1 tsp chili powder

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp salt

Instructions

  1. In a bowl or resealable bag, whisk together all ingredients until well combined.
  2. Add 1–2 lbs of flank or skirt steak, ensuring it’s fully coated in the marinade.
  3. Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, ideally overnight, to allow the flavors to infuse.
  4. Once marinated, remove the steak from the marinade and grill to your desired doneness.
  5. Slice against the grain and serve.

Notes

  • Spicy Option: Add a sliced jalapeño or a teaspoon of hot sauce to the marinade for a bit of heat.
  • Vegetarian Option: This marinade also works great with vegetables like mushrooms, bell peppers, or zucchini—grill them alongside your steak.
  • Herb Swap: If you don’t have cilantro, try swapping it for parsley or basil for a different fresh flavor.
