Description
This citrus-cilantro marinated steak is a flavorful and juicy dish, combining tangy citrus with savory soy sauce and fresh cilantro for a vibrant grilled meal.
Ingredients
1/2 cup orange juice
1/4 cup lime juice (about 2 limes)
1/4 cup soy sauce
1/4 cup olive oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup chopped fresh cilantro
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a bowl or resealable bag, whisk together all ingredients until well combined.
- Add 1–2 lbs of flank or skirt steak, ensuring it’s fully coated in the marinade.
- Marinate in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours, ideally overnight, to allow the flavors to infuse.
- Once marinated, remove the steak from the marinade and grill to your desired doneness.
- Slice against the grain and serve.
Notes
- Spicy Option: Add a sliced jalapeño or a teaspoon of hot sauce to the marinade for a bit of heat.
- Vegetarian Option: This marinade also works great with vegetables like mushrooms, bell peppers, or zucchini—grill them alongside your steak.
- Herb Swap: If you don’t have cilantro, try swapping it for parsley or basil for a different fresh flavor.
