Description

A homemade version of the classic KFC Bowl with layers of creamy mashed potatoes, crispy popcorn chicken, savory corn, rich gravy, and melted cheddar cheese.

Ingredients

6 servings mashed potatoes

1 24 oz package popcorn chicken, cooked

1 15 oz can corn, drained and heated

1 package beef gravy, cooked

2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Make 6 servings of instant mashed potatoes (or make your own homemade version).
  2. Cook the popcorn chicken according to the package instructions.
  3. Heat the corn in the microwave or on the stovetop, whichever you prefer.
  4. Prepare the gravy, using a brown gravy packet or your favorite recipe.
  5. Assemble your bowls by layering mashed potatoes, corn, chicken, and gravy. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.

Notes

  • For a fun twist, swap mashed potatoes with macaroni and cheese, and omit the corn and gravy for a cheesy variation.
  • Feel free to use chicken strips, grilled chicken, or rotisserie chicken in place of popcorn chicken.
  • Use chicken or turkey gravy as alternatives to beef gravy.
  • Consider adding vegetables such as peas or green beans for more flavor and nutrition.
  • If you’re looking for a lower-carb option, substitute mashed cauliflower for mashed potatoes.
