Description
A homemade version of the classic KFC Bowl with layers of creamy mashed potatoes, crispy popcorn chicken, savory corn, rich gravy, and melted cheddar cheese.
Ingredients
6 servings mashed potatoes
1 24 oz package popcorn chicken, cooked
1 15 oz can corn, drained and heated
1 package beef gravy, cooked
2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Make 6 servings of instant mashed potatoes (or make your own homemade version).
- Cook the popcorn chicken according to the package instructions.
- Heat the corn in the microwave or on the stovetop, whichever you prefer.
- Prepare the gravy, using a brown gravy packet or your favorite recipe.
- Assemble your bowls by layering mashed potatoes, corn, chicken, and gravy. Top with shredded cheddar cheese.
Notes
- For a fun twist, swap mashed potatoes with macaroni and cheese, and omit the corn and gravy for a cheesy variation.
- Feel free to use chicken strips, grilled chicken, or rotisserie chicken in place of popcorn chicken.
- Use chicken or turkey gravy as alternatives to beef gravy.
- Consider adding vegetables such as peas or green beans for more flavor and nutrition.
- If you’re looking for a lower-carb option, substitute mashed cauliflower for mashed potatoes.
