Description

Crispy Air Fryer Seasoned French Fries are a healthier alternative to traditional fries, offering a crispy, golden exterior and soft interior with minimal oil. Seasoned with garlic powder, paprika, and other spices, these fries are the perfect side dish, snack, or light meal.

Ingredients

4 medium Russet potatoes

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon black pepper

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon paprika

Optional: fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions

  1. Wash and peel the potatoes (peeling is optional), then cut them into 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick fries.
  2. Soak the fries in a bowl of cold water for at least 30 minutes. This step helps to remove excess starch, ensuring crispier fries.
  3. Drain the fries and pat them dry thoroughly with paper towels to remove any remaining moisture.
  4. Toss the fries in a bowl with olive oil, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and paprika. Ensure they are evenly coated.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3-5 minutes.
  6. Place the fries in a single layer in the air fryer basket. If necessary, cook in batches to avoid overcrowding the fries.
  7. Air fry for 15-20 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through cooking for even crispiness.
  8. Remove the fries from the air fryer and serve immediately. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • For extra crispy fries, make sure to soak them in water for at least 30 minutes before cooking. This removes excess starch. Additionally, make sure they are completely dry before seasoning and cooking.
  • If you prefer a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili powder to the seasoning mix.
  • Sweet potato fries can be used instead of Russet potatoes for a slightly sweeter flavor.
  • For a vegan option, make sure to use olive oil as the only fat.
  • Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket. Cook the fries in batches if needed to ensure crispiness.
