1–2 garlic cloves, minced
1/4 teaspoon black pepper
Pinch sea salt
Chicken:
5 chicken cutlets
Sea salt to taste
Ground black pepper to taste
Oil for frying
Flour Mixture:
1/3 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
3/4 teaspoon smoked paprika
Egg Mixture:
2 eggs
1/4 teaspoon salt
Breadcrumbs Mixture:
3/4 cup panko crumbs
1/4 cup breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon dried parsley
1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/2 teaspoon sea salt
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
Assembly:
2 romaine hearts, chopped
1–2 French baguettes
Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the mayonnaise, Greek yogurt, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, Parmesan cheese, garlic, black pepper, and salt to make the Caesar dressing. Stir well and set aside.
- Season the chicken cutlets with sea salt and black pepper. In one shallow dish, combine the flour, salt, and smoked paprika. In another dish, beat the eggs with a pinch of salt. In a third dish, mix the panko crumbs, breadcrumbs, dried parsley, pepper, salt, oregano, garlic powder, and Parmesan cheese.
- Dredge each chicken cutlet in the flour mixture, dip in the egg mixture, then coat thoroughly with the breadcrumbs mixture. Heat oil in a skillet over medium heat and fry the chicken cutlets until golden brown and crispy on both sides, about 4-5 minutes per side. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Slice the French baguette into individual sandwich portions. Spread the prepared Caesar dressing on both sides of each baguette. Add a layer of crispy chicken, top with chopped romaine lettuce, and sprinkle with more freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
- Serve immediately for best taste and texture.
Notes
- For a healthier option, bake the chicken cutlets at 400°F (200°C) for 20-25 minutes instead of frying.
- For a gluten-free version, substitute the breadcrumbs and flour with gluten-free alternatives.
- To prevent soggy bread, toast the baguette before assembling the sandwich.
