Crispy Honey Chili Beef Strips feature thinly sliced beef, fried to golden perfection and coated in a sweet and spicy honey chili sauce—perfect for a quick, flavorful dinner or entertaining guests.

Ingredients

1 lb (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced

1/2 cup cornstarch

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 cup vegetable oil, for frying

1/4 cup honey

2 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp chili sauce (adjust to taste)

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp ginger, grated

Optional: sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix cornstarch, flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
  2. Coat the thinly sliced beef strips in the dry mixture.
  3. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  4. Fry the beef strips in batches for 3–4 minutes each until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
  5. In a saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, chili sauce, garlic, and ginger. Heat over medium, stirring until slightly thickened (3–5 minutes).
  6. Toss the crispy beef strips in the sauce until evenly coated.
  7. Serve immediately, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

  • Swap beef with chicken or tofu for variation.
  • Add red pepper flakes for extra heat.
  • Stir in lime juice for a citrusy note.
  • Thicken sauce with cornstarch slurry if needed.
  • Use maple or agave syrup if honey is unavailable.
