Ingredients
1 lb (450g) beef sirloin, thinly sliced
1/2 cup cornstarch
1/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 cup vegetable oil, for frying
1/4 cup honey
2 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp chili sauce (adjust to taste)
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 tsp ginger, grated
Optional: sliced green onions and sesame seeds for garnish
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix cornstarch, flour, baking powder, salt, and pepper.
- Coat the thinly sliced beef strips in the dry mixture.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
- Fry the beef strips in batches for 3–4 minutes each until golden and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- In a saucepan, combine honey, soy sauce, chili sauce, garlic, and ginger. Heat over medium, stirring until slightly thickened (3–5 minutes).
- Toss the crispy beef strips in the sauce until evenly coated.
- Serve immediately, garnished with green onions and sesame seeds if desired.
