Description
This decadent hot fudge pie features a rich, gooey chocolate filling in a flaky pre-baked crust. It’s easy to make and delivers a warm, indulgent dessert that’s perfect served with ice cream or whipped cream.
Ingredients
1 pre-baked pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
½ cup unsalted butter
1 cup bittersweet chocolate, chopped
1 cup granulated sugar
¼ cup cocoa powder
3 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
¼ tsp salt
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Melt the butter and chopped bittersweet chocolate together in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth. Let cool slightly.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the sugar, cocoa powder, eggs, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Stir the melted chocolate mixture into the bowl until fully combined.
- Pour the filling into the pre-baked pie crust and smooth the top.
- Bake for 30–35 minutes, until edges are set and the center still jiggles slightly.
- Let the pie cool for at least 10–15 minutes before serving warm with ice cream or whipped cream.
Notes
Use semisweet chocolate if bittersweet isn’t available—reduce sugar slightly if needed.
Add mix-ins like chopped nuts or drizzle caramel after baking for extra flavor.
Make ahead and reheat slices in the microwave for a warm, gooey center.
This pie freezes well for up to 3 months. Thaw before reheating.
