Ingredients
2 cups (240 grams) all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened
1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 large Land O Lakes® Egg
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
1 (10- to 12-ounce) package (2 cups) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Set this mixture aside.
- In a separate bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Beat at medium speed, scraping the bowl often, until the mixture is creamy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture. Continue beating until the ingredients are well combined.
- Reduce the mixer speed to low and gradually add the flour mixture, beating until everything is well mixed.
- Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Drop the dough by tablespoonfuls (about 2 tablespoons) onto parchment-lined cookie sheets, spacing the cookies about 2 inches apart.
- Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are light golden brown. Be careful not to overbake.
- Allow the cookies to cool on the cookie sheets for 2 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool completely.
