Description

These Favorite Chocolate Chip Cookies are a timeless treat with crisp edges and chewy centers, offering the perfect balance of soft and crunchy. Made with simple ingredients, these cookies are quick to prepare and always a crowd-pleaser, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

2 cups (240 grams) all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

3/4 cup Land O Lakes® Butter, softened

1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 large Land O Lakes® Egg

1 tablespoon vanilla extract

1 (10- to 12-ounce) package (2 cups) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking powder, and baking soda. Set this mixture aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Beat at medium speed, scraping the bowl often, until the mixture is creamy.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture. Continue beating until the ingredients are well combined.
  5. Reduce the mixer speed to low and gradually add the flour mixture, beating until everything is well mixed.
  6. Stir in the chocolate chips until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
  7. Drop the dough by tablespoonfuls (about 2 tablespoons) onto parchment-lined cookie sheets, spacing the cookies about 2 inches apart.
  8. Bake the cookies for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are light golden brown. Be careful not to overbake.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the cookie sheets for 2 minutes before transferring them to a cooling rack to cool completely.

  • Dark Chocolate: Use dark chocolate chips for a richer, less sweet version.
  • Storage: Store cookies in an airtight container for up to 1 week or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
  • Freezing: Freeze cookies in a freezer-safe bag or container for up to 3 months. Thaw at room temperature.
