Description

Soft, warm homemade breadsticks loaded with gooey melted cheese and a hint of garlic. Perfect as a snack, appetizer, or side dish, these cheesy breadsticks are easy to make and loved by all ages.

Ingredients

1 package (about 16 oz) pizza dough (store-bought or homemade)

1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

3 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp Italian seasoning

1/4 tsp salt

Fresh parsley, chopped (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Lightly grease a baking sheet or line it with parchment paper.
  2. Roll out the pizza dough into a rectangle about 12×8 inches and place it on the prepared baking sheet.
  3. In a small bowl, combine the melted butter, minced garlic, Italian seasoning, and salt. Brush half of this garlic butter mixture evenly over the dough.
  4. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the buttered dough.
  5. Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, slice the dough into breadstick-sized strips, about 1 to 1.5 inches wide.
  6. Brush the remaining garlic butter over the top of the cheese.
  7. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the cheese is melted and the breadsticks are golden brown.
  8. Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve warm.

Notes

  • For a crispier crust, bake the breadsticks a couple of minutes longer, watching carefully to avoid burning.
  • You can add red pepper flakes for a bit of spice.
  • These breadsticks are great served with marinara or ranch dipping sauce.
