Description

Italian Stromboli is a comforting, flavorful dish that combines savory meats, melted cheese, and a crispy garlic butter crust. Perfect for family dinners, parties, or weeknight meals, this Stromboli brings Italian flavors straight to your table.

Ingredients

1 tube of Pillsbury pizza crust

10 slices of Genoa salami

12 slices of sandwich pepperoni

8 slices of provolone cheese or mozzarella (shredded cheese can also be used)

2 tablespoons of butter

2 cloves of garlic, minced

2 teaspoons of chopped parsley

3 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven according to the instructions on the pizza crust package.
  2. Melt the butter in the microwave, then mix in the minced garlic, parsley, and Parmesan cheese. Set aside.
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Stretch the pizza crust on the prepared baking sheet to almost the size of the sheet.
  4. Begin layering the meats on the stretched crust, starting with salami, followed by pepperoni.
  5. Place the slices of cheese over the top of the meats.
  6. Carefully roll the Stromboli lengthwise and ensure the seam is sealed well. Pinch and mold the ends of the dough to seal and tuck them under the Stromboli.
  7. Score the top of the Stromboli a few times with a serrated knife to allow steam to escape during baking.
  8. Spread the garlic butter mixture over the top of the Stromboli.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for the same amount of time recommended for baking a pizza on the dough’s packaging, without par-baking.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian version, swap out the meats for veggies like mushrooms, bell peppers, onions, and spinach.
  • If you like spicy food, add some sliced jalapeños or red pepper flakes.
  • Use a blend of provolone, mozzarella, and cheddar cheese for a cheesier version of this dish.
  • Leftover Stromboli can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
