Description

Pulled Beef Sandwiches are a comforting and flavorful meal with tender, slow-cooked beef, smoky spices, and a rich, savory sauce, all piled onto soft toasted buns. Perfect for gatherings or a hearty dinner.

Ingredients

Beef chuck roast

Olive oil

Onion (diced)

Garlic (minced)

Beef broth

Barbecue sauce

Worcestershire sauce

Brown sugar

Smoked paprika

Salt and black pepper

Cayenne pepper (optional)

Hamburger buns

Coleslaw (for topping, optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 300°F (150°C).
  2. In a large Dutch oven, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the diced onion and sauté until translucent, about 5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  3. Season the beef chuck roast with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper (optional). Brown the roast on all sides for 4-5 minutes per side.
  4. Pour in beef broth, barbecue sauce, Worcestershire sauce, and brown sugar. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Cover the Dutch oven and transfer to the oven. Cook for 3 to 4 hours until the beef is fork-tender.
  6. Remove the beef from the oven and shred it using two forks, mixing it with the sauce.
  7. Optionally toast the hamburger buns for extra texture.
  8. Assemble the sandwich by piling the shredded beef onto the buns. Add coleslaw if desired. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños or a splash of hot sauce.
  • For a sweeter flavor, swap regular barbecue sauce for honey barbecue sauce.
  • Add liquid smoke for an extra smoky flavor.
  • For a vegetarian option, replace the beef with jackfruit or mushrooms.
  • Ensure gluten-free buns and barbecue sauce for a gluten-free version.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
