Ingredients
For the Surf & Turf:
2 filet mignon steaks (about 6 oz each)
8 large shrimp, peeled and deveined
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
Salt & black pepper, to taste
Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
For the Creamy Garlic Sauce:
2 tbsp butter
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup heavy cream
1/4 cup chicken or beef broth
1/4 cup grated Parmesan
1/2 tsp cracked black pepper (or more to taste)
Salt, to taste
Instructions
- Cook Filet: Season steaks generously with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil and butter in a pan over medium-high heat. Sear steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side (for medium-rare). Let the steaks rest before serving.
- Cook Shrimp: In the same pan, sear shrimp for 1-2 minutes on each side until opaque and golden. Set aside.
- Make Sauce: Reduce the heat to medium-low. Add butter and minced garlic to the pan, sautéing for about 30 seconds. Stir in the heavy cream and broth, letting it simmer for 2-3 minutes. Add Parmesan cheese and cracked black pepper, stirring until smooth. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt as needed.
- Assemble: Plate the filet mignon steaks, top with shrimp, and generously pour the creamy garlic sauce over the top. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley.
