Description

Tuna Melt Patties are crispy, flavorful patties made with tuna, melted cheddar cheese, and savory seasonings, offering a fun twist on a classic tuna melt sandwich. Easy to make and versatile, they’re perfect for lunch, dinner, or snacks.

Ingredients

2 cans (5 oz each) tuna, drained

½ tsp garlic powder

½ tsp onion powder

½ tsp salt

¼ tsp black pepper

½ cup breadcrumbs

1 egg, beaten

2 tbsp mayonnaise

1 tsp Dijon mustard

½ cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)

1 tbsp butter or oil (for frying)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the tuna, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, breadcrumbs, egg, mayonnaise, mustard, cheese, and parsley. Mix well until everything is evenly combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into small patties, about 2-3 inches in diameter.
  3. Heat butter or oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  4. Serve warm, either on their own, as part of a sandwich, or with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Vegetarian Option: Swap the tuna for mashed chickpeas or another plant-based protein.
  • Cheese Variations: Substitute cheddar with mozzarella, Monterey Jack, or Swiss cheese.
  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days.
  • Reheating: Reheat in a skillet for the crispiest texture or microwave for 30-45 seconds.
