Description

Watermelon Lemonade is a refreshing, vibrant summer drink that combines the sweetness of watermelon with the tart zing of lemon and lime. It’s simple to make, naturally sweet, and perfect for hot days.


Ingredients

5 to 6 cups seedless watermelon, cut into 12 inch cubes

2 cups ice cold water

⅓ cup granulated sugar

½ cup lemon juice (about 4 large lemons)

2 tablespoons lime juice (about 1 large lime)

2 tablespoons agave nectar (optional; honey or maple syrup can also be used)

Fresh mint leaves, watermelon slices, lemon or lime slices for optional garnishes


Instructions

  1. Blend the watermelon, ice-cold water, and granulated sugar in a blender until smooth. Use the smoothie setting for the best results.
  2. Strain the juice through a fine-mesh sieve into a large pitcher to remove any pulp or seeds. Use the back of a spoon to press the juice through the strainer.
  3. Stir in the freshly squeezed lemon juice, lime juice, and agave nectar (or your sweetener of choice). Taste and adjust sweetness if necessary.
  4. Serve the Watermelon Lemonade over ice, garnishing with fresh mint, watermelon slices, and lemon or lime slices.

Notes

  • For a fizzy version, replace half of the water with sparkling water or club soda.
  • For more citrusy tang, increase the lime juice.
  • If you prefer less sweetness, reduce the sugar or sweetener, and adjust the lemon and lime for a more tart flavor.
  • For a cold and refreshing twist, use frozen watermelon cubes instead of regular ice cubes.
